An update

Hey guys my labtop had broken and Ive been away.

Im now back and hopefully able to make daily updates to the blog.

1st thing is I have started a new army. Imperial Guard. Im really happy that I found a 3rd army which I enjoy playing more than when I started the hobby.

2nd: I competed in my 1st GT and obtained 3rd place which I am really happy about. Won a Book and DVD. Into my prize winnings It goes.

Lastly New years are coming up. My Hobby tasks is to:
enter 4 tournaments instead of 2 in 2010, enter into 1 catagory at Goldern Demon, and complete all my armys to 2000 points (Marines, Necrons, Imperial Guard, High Elves, and Skaven).

Have a fantastic New year guys and speak soon.

Update: Saturday 4th September

hey all
This is an update on what I am doing 40K wise. Lots of painting on my part :-) completed 10 troops of my Necron Warriors. Only another 20 to go :-(.

Been reading other Blogs and I do tend to agree with Fritz's blog about size of 40K games. 750point limit I find is the hardest limit to find a competitive list for and is the biggest challenge.

Setting my own 750 Space Marine list to go and play with at my local club tomorrow so it should be a good laugh to play with if they are not all playing fantasy...

Later today I'll be working on my 2nd youtube video. 1st video did not take off as I wanted (this maybe because I had no other videos on my channel and also that I have not put enough key search words) 16 views in 1 day. So my next video I want to try and see if I can double the views and hopefully bring some more subscribers. I have 4 at the moment (Not a lot I know but it a start)

Lets see what happens.

1750 Tournament 21/08/2010

I entered this tournament a few weeks back. It didnt go as well as expected.

Game 1 I faced CSM in a 3 objectives match. After a closly fought game I failed 4 2+ armour save to give up one objective on the last turn to lose the match 2 objectives to 1 instead of 1 each and a contest.

Game 2 I faced Imperial Guard in a capture and control battle. My infentry got killed very quickly on my objective and vise versa. So both players had a mad rush to aquire an objective and he managed to get on the objective by the games end (Turn 5) and my SGT was 4" away from the objective so I lost that game 1-0.

Game 3 was against Space Marines in a Anhilation battle and up to turn 3 he was winning 2-0 and then all my reserves came in and made the score 4-2 to me. The game however continued to turn 7 and I lost 5-7 when I was winning 5-3 on turn 5.

Game 4 was against Tau and was a 5 objectives match. This match was a disaster. My reserves came on at the wrong time at the wrong side and I failed lots of simple armour saves at the begining. At the end of the game I was again 1" away from contesting a vital objective. He won 2-1

What I learned?

1.) The bad areas in the list. My Marine army is based on ambush and assault so the Thunderfire cannon does not quite fit in. The strenguard didn't do their job either.

2.) Make sure my troups are covered at all times.

3.) Do not just go on rampage with Lysander, make every unit have a mission of their own to help the overal game.

Got another tournament in October to look forward to :-D

New Blog

Hey I'm very new to blogging and video uploading etc...

A little about me

I am a Uni student in the UK and have only been playing 40K since Jan 2010 (Newbie!). Got into the 40K world via a friend who played and told me to give the game a go. First collected Space Marines (as most starting players do) and have built up a big collection of Marines since and am regularly victorious against people who have the same experience.

I attend various clubs both at the Uni club, the Local club in the town, and while at home in my local GW store.

In the future I'm hoping to put up here my army photos videos and other bits which hopefully help me and anybody who reads and comments a better player.
